I've known Riley for years, and have done a session with them before they were engaged (another epic blog post for the future!). When she reached out about their engagement session at Stonehaven, how could I refuse?? The day had unexpected weather, the drive home was crazy scary in massive storms, but it was 100% worth it and I would re-live it again in a heartbeat!
Riley had thought through every detail, from the save the date shots to the sweeping staircase and flowing dress. Everything was *chef's kiss*
Starting off: Save the Date
We started out the session with some Save the Date photos, they had a special cake with their wedding date and Riley's parents' wedding champagne glasses for an heirloom touch. They made for beautiful details!
Next we explored the venue: Stonehaven in AL is an absolutely STUNNING venue. Every detail is thought out (it's photographer owned and designed!), so literally every angle is picture-perfect!
Check out this beautiful balcony - verrrrrry Romeo & Juliet

The Grand Staircase

Everybody's FAVORITE spot in the venue, and understandably. This grand staircase gives a classic touch on a modern venue, reminiscent of a great hall or mansion. Riley and Bradley were perfect models for the sweeping stairs. Can it get any more perfect?!
Lightening (and I mean LIGHTENING) started streaking the sky and huge thunderclaps started rumbling, so we knew our time was limited. We rushed to the Great Lake view before the downpour came...
BIG drops of rain started falling, so we RUSHED to the glass atrium to finish off the shoot with some fun flash shots!
